The present invention relates to an emergency power supply apparatus and method for a ship, which store regenerative power generated in a ship in a power storage part and use the stored regenerative power as emergency power in the case of dead ship. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the emergency power supply apparatus for a ship comprises: a power load which generates regenerative power; and a power storage part which stores the regenerative power generated from the power load therein and supplies power to an auxiliary device of a main generator of the ship to recover the main generator in the case of dead ship, wherein the dead ship means a state that the main generator cannot be recovered by itself.
