<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner in which a gas-liquid contacting means for continuing the treatment of contaminated air efficiently is used. <P>SOLUTION: This air claener is provided with the gas-liquid contacting means for contacting air with a treating liquid to decrease a contaminant in the air by the treating liquid and a pH controlling means for changing the pH of the treating liquid of the gas-liquid contacting means and keeping the pH in the prescribed range. The removal of a specified gas can be continued efficiently by a method for controlling the pH value of the treating liquid, namely, presetting the pH value of the treating liquid to the desired value fittest for the specified gas on the acid or alkaline side, treating the specified gas with the treating liquid of the fittest pH value and keeping the fittest pH value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
