<p>A chair, in particular a work or office chair, has a back-rest rod (6) whose inclination to the seat can be varied and a back-rest (35) which can be adjusted on said rod by means of a slider (5) or similar. Said slider or similar can be slid in or on the back-rest rod (6) in the direction of the seat by means of an adjustment device (20) when said rod tilts backwards. To further enhance the comfort of the chair in the simplest manner, the back-rest (35) is connected to a carriage (10) or similar which is additionally adjustable over a predetermined distance in or on the slider (5) and can be fixed in several positions.</p> |
