摘要 <p>In adjusting the mold thickness of an injection molding machine, a mold touch position where both halves of the mold come into mutual contact is detected and the mold temperature is detected by a pair of thermocouples fitted to both halves. The thickness of the mold is determined from a position which is determined in advance and at which a fixed platen and a movable platen of the molding machine come into contact amd the detected mold touch position. After the start of the molding operation, mold temperatures (Tn1, Tn2) are detected in each molding cycle (S10) and a difference in the quantity of the mold thickness (Δe) between both cycles is calculated (S14) from a difference in the mold temperature (ΔT) between the previous cycle and the present cycle, from the thickness (e) of the mold and from the coefficient (K) of thermal expansion. A mold touch position (P) in the present cycle can be determined (S16) on the basis of this calculated value. At the time of the mold clamp in the present cycle, the movable platen is moved from this touch position by a predetermined quantity towards the fixed platen side to generate a set mold clamping force.</p>
