Steerable rigid axle for tractor - uses secure method of joining axle to chassis

The steerable rigid axle (7) is mounted on the chassis of a tractor. The chassis, at least in the part housing the engine (2), flywheel housing (3) and transmission (4) is formed as a block spring-braced against the axle. The thrust tube (8) of the axle is led through a tunnel-like recess (11) in the oil sump (10) of the engine and the counter bearing (9) is provided at the oil sump in the region of the screwed joint with the flywheel housing. USE/ADVANTAGE - The rigid axle is used on a tractor. The thrust tube is so arranged that the ground clearance and the max. steering lock of the tractor are not impaired.
