<p>PURPOSE: To provide a golf ball that can fly a good distance and has a good cut resistance, soft impacting sensibility and high spin speed by using a blend of a lithium ionomer resin having a particular bending elasticity with a zinc ionomer resin having a particular bending elasticity as the cover material of the golf ball. CONSTITUTION: The golf ball is composed of two pieces of a cover 12 and a solid core 11. The cover 12 is mainly made of a blend of a relatively hard ionomer having a high bending elasticity with a relatively soft ionomer having a low bending elasticity. The cover 12 consists of a blend of a lithium ionomer resin having at least bending elasticity of 4200 kg/cm<2> (6000 psi) with a zinc ionomer resin having bending elasticity in a range of 196 to 595 kg/cm<2> (2800∼8500 psi). Furthermore, the cover consists of 60 to 40 wt.% of the lithium ionomer resin and 40 to 60 wt.% of the zinc ionomer resin.</p> |
