<p>PURPOSE:To stably and efficiently remove gaseous alkoxides incorporated in a waste gas, etc., by bringing the gas containing the alkoxides into contact with the purifying agent whose metal oxide consisting essentially of copper oxide and manganese oxide is stuck with the alkali compd. such as potassium hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:The gas containing alkoxide compd. (e.g. tetraethoxy silane) being a harmful component is brought into contact with the purifying agent which is composed of the metal oxide consisting essentially of CuO and MnO2 to which an alkali metal compd. (e.g. NaOH) is stuck to remove the harmful component. The rate of the sticking of the alkali metal compd. is 1-50 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. metal oxide expressed in terms of the metal hydroxide. Moreover, the content of the CuO and the MnO2 in the metal oxide is >=60wt.%, and the ratio of the MnO2 to the CuO is 1: (0.8-5.0) in wt. ratio, and the purifying agent holds 1-40wt.% free water content.</p> |
