<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output device such as a printer device which protects high-confidentiality images by reducing the possibility of a leak of contents of high-confidential document images or the like in the middle of an image output process of outputting images with image data. <P>SOLUTION: The image output device 1 records the image data into a recording mechanism (S104). Before the image output process is started, it is judged whether to satisfy an estimation condition required for estimating generation of abnormalities of the image output process from a history of the generation of abnormalities and a remaining amount of consumables, and required for estimating the generation of preliminarily set abnormalities (S108).
