<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proportional solenoid of an electric steering system, capable of converting the additional torque conformed to a steering torque into the mechanical displacement in a simple structure. SOLUTION: In this electric power steering system equipped with a comparison switch 50 managing a control range by way of comparing the displacement conformed to the output of an input torque detector with that conformed to the output of a propertional solenoid 30 detecting the additional torque, this propertional solenoid 30 consists of a housing 31 with a bearing in the central part, an actuator 34 being locked to this housing 31 and wrapped with a coil 36, a bottomed cylindrical yoke 40 being stuck with a rotary shaft 33 in the central part and attached with this shaft 33 rotatably to the bearing, a magnet 39 being attached to an inner circumferential part of this yoke 40 and set up in an outer circumferential part of the actuator 34, and a coil spring 43 being spirally wrapped, its central end is locked to the turning shaft 33, and its peripheral free end to the housing 31, respectively.</p> |
