A dynamic icon system and method are disclosed. The system includes a server having access to at least one information source, and a client in communication with the server, and having an icon for displaying dynamic information provided by the server. The method includes the steps of determining information to be dynamically sent from a server to a client, an d displaying the sent information through a client icon.
