Camshaft setter for internal combustion engine

The camshaft setter (3) sets the engine phases. It is non-positively connected to the camshaft (1) and to a sensor to detect first value. The setter is connected to a drive system which is ready for use before the first ignition of the engine. The setter may be hydraulically driven, in which case the oil pressure system is connected up by a connection (7) such that there is sufficient pressure to adjust the camshaft before the ignition.
