PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a BIOS data storage device for computer system and a driving method therefor with which costs can be reduced by storing BIOS data in a specified area of a static RAM to be used for a cache memory without using expensive ROMs. SOLUTION: This BIOS data storage device for computer system is constituted by providing a cache/BIOS memory 10 for performing a function as the cache memory and a BIOS data storage function, main memory 20 for copying and storing th BIOS data stored in the cache/BIOS memory 10, central processing unit 30 for preparing the drive of a computer system by accessing the BIOS data stored in the cache/BIOS memory 10, main power source control part 40 for supplying or cutting a main power source, control part 50, and system power source part 60.
