Bit search device e.g. for computer-readable storage medium selects one output from 1-detector or 0-detector, operating from e.g. most significant to least significant bit

The device includes a 1 detector for detecting a bit position within an input data chain from the most significant bit to the least significant bit or vice versa. A 0 detector detects a bit position within an input data chain from the most significant bit to the least significant bit or vice versa. A selector selects one output form the 1 detector or the 0 detector based on a selection signal, and uses it as a bit search output. An Independent claim is included for a bit search device. A bit search method and a computer readable storage medium are also claimed.
