PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collapsible seating device of a simple constitution in which it is possible to operate a seating to rotate on horizontal shafts easily and safely and especially to prevent the seating from sudden collapse, or the like, reliably and which can be made compact with a simple constitution and inexpensively produced at low costs. SOLUTION: This collapsible seating device is provided with both a mounting base 4 to be mounted to a wall surface 1, or the like, and a seating 5 pivoted at the lower end part of the mounting base 4 freely rotationally on horizontal shafts 6 and 7 between a collapsed posture A to be collapsed along the mounting base 4 and a use posture B to be protruded forward from the lower end part of the mounting base 4. A biasing means to bias the seating 5 in the direction of collapsing on the horizontal shafts 6 and 7 and a friction-type damping means to damp the rotation of the seating 5 on the horizontal shafts 6 and 7 are incorporated in the vicinity of the horizontal shafts 6 and 7.
