PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light weight and compact spinning reel for fishing capable of simply and smoothly exchanging a reverse rotation-preventing state and reverse rotatable state of a rotor, and delivering a fishing line quickly and smoothly against the abrupt drawing of a fish. SOLUTION: This spinning reel for fishing equipped with a rotor 8 supported by a reel body 1a as freely rotatable, a spool 10 supported by the reel body and on which a fishing line is wound by the rotation of the rotor, a reverse rotation-preventing device for preventing the reverse rotation of the rotor against the delivering direction of the fishing line by the rotor and a braking device for imparting a braking force to the reverse rotation of the rotor by a transferring operation of an operating member 5 supported by the reel body, is characterized by being equipped with a drag mechanism allowing the rotation of the spool in fishing line-delivering direction while imparting the braking force to the spool, and releasing the reverse rotation-preventing state of the rotor by the reverse-preventing device by a transferring operation of the operating member.
