METHOD AND STRUCTURE FOR CONNECTING EXTENSION JOINTS FOR ROAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of connecting extension joints for road capable of improving the water cutoff performance without generating peel and breakdown at the connection part, and to provide the structure thereof. SOLUTION: In the case of connecting a new extension joint 12 for road in a direction crossing at right angle with an existing extension joint 11 for road at a central part thereof, edge preparation for forming an obtuse angleαis performed to the extension joint 11 for road at the predetermined position so as to form a connection part 13. On the other hand, the edge preparation at the nearly same angle with the obtuse angleαof the connection part 13 is performed to a tip of a new extension joint 12 for road so as to form a connection part 14. An extension joint member 17 formed with a cavity part 16 and made of a rubber-like elastic body having an M-shaped cross section is integrally adhered by vulcanization to a cavity part 15 formed in the joint connection part.
