PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a die for hot working, with which high heat check resistance can stably be secured. SOLUTION: In the producing method of the die for hot working which applies a nitroding treatment at least on a cavity surface after executing quenching and tempering of a tool steel for hot working, the above quenching is executed with larger cooling speed than the cooling speed generating the precipitation of grain boundary carbide and bainite transformation, and the above tempering is executed so that the hardness becomes HRC 30-44. Then, the above nitriding treatment is executed so that the micro-hardness on the surface becomes HV 500-900, and the hardened depth of the nitrided layer becomes <=80μm and a compound layer is not formed.
