PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance convenience by enabling automatic setting depending on the using method of a user. SOLUTION: Upon turn on power of a television broadcast receiver 1, a microcontroller 10 reads out information of standard (initial value) video regulation value, audio regulation value, audible age, purchase limit amount of money, and the like, from a memory 9. Based on that information, receiving operation at a channel selecting section 2, a demodulating section 3, and a video/audio processing section 4 is controlled and set information of video/audio regulation value, audible age, purchase limit amount of money, and the like, stored in an inserted external memory 20 is read out when insertion of the external memory 20 into the connecting section 11 of the television broadcast receiver 1 is detected. Video/audio regulation value and receiving operation are controlled depending on the set information.
