A packaging system suitable for postage of fragile items, the packaging system having: (a) first (1) and second (2) body parts; (b) a non-releasable locking (10 and 12, a to f) system for locking together the first and second body parts, and (c) a release system independent of the locking system (21 and 23), wherein in use, the first and second body parts can be manually locked together using the locking system, so as to encase an item, the release system being operable to provide access to the encased item.
