PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition which has excellent processability, durability, and repeeling property, does not need an ageing treatment after cross-linked, and is useful for optical members, to provide an adhesive layer which is formed from the adhesive composition for the optical members and is used for optical members, to provide an adhesive optical member having the adhesive layer, to provide an image display device using the adhesive optical members, and to provide a method for producing the adhesive optical member without ageing the adhesive layer after cross-linked, without carrying out the production under an inert gas atmosphere for preventing the hindrance of the polymerization due to oxygen, and without covering a coating film comprising the adhesive composition with a cover film. SOLUTION: This adhesive composition for optical members comprises 100 pts. wt. of an acrylic polymer (A) comprising≥50 wt. % of a≥5C alkyl (meth)acrylate and 0.2 to 2 wt. % of an unsaturated carboxylic acid as monomer units and having a weight-average mol. wt. of 1,000,000 to 2,000,000, 0.01 to 1 pt. wt. of a silane coupling agent and 0.01 to 10 pts. wt. of a photo cross-linking agent.
