<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the type of a recording medium to be supplied to an image forming device side, and to specify and start an application program corresponding to an information processor based on the detection result. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus for receiving image information generated by an information processor, and for recording the image information in a recording medium supplied to a paper feeding part is provided with a detection part which detects the identification information of the recording medium to discriminate the type of the recording medium supplied to the paper feeding part, a notification part which notifies the information processor of the result detected by the detecting part and a recording part which receives the image information generated according to setting corresponding to the detected identification information by the information processor notified of the detection result, and records the image information in the supplied recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
