<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color toner which is excellent in fluidity, suppresses lowering of image density, surface stain, contamination in a machine due to toner scattering, and other problem, and suppresses a faulty cleaning of a photoreceptor such as chatter or blade curling-up and filming on the photoreceptor when residual toner on a surface of the photoreceptor is cleaned, and to provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus using the toner. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which includes a cleaning means kept in pressure contact with a photoreceptor and in which residual toner on the photoreceptor is removed by the cleaning means and the photoreceptor is repeatedly used to form color images, a two-component developer consisting of color toners having a weight average diameter of 6.0-11.5 μm and a carrier is used, wherein at least one of the color toners includes ≤15% by number of toner particles of ≤5 μm and ≤5% by volume of toner particles whose diameter is ≥2 times the weight average diameter, and the relation between number average particle diameters D25 and D75 by which cumulative number distributions become 25% and 75% is 0.60≤D25/D75≤0.80, and a toner holding vessel for holding toner removed by the cleaning means is disposed above the photoreceptor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
