PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the volume of an inaudible acoustic signal to a suitable level without increasing the suitable volume of the signal in input acoustic signals. SOLUTION: In the input acoustic signal, the average volume of the acoustic signals in the range from minimal volume required for a listener to hear a talk to the suitable volume for the listener to hear the talk is computed (S201). Based on the volume difference between the average volume and the suitable volume, the amount of amplification for amplifying the input acoustic signal is computed (S204). By amplifying an acoustic signal of volume smaller than the suitable volume in the input acoustic signals based on the amount of amplification, the volume difference between the acoustic signal of volume smaller than the suitable volume in the input acoustic signals and the acoustic signal of volume larger than the suitable volume.
