PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the precision of a gray-level correction table that is generated through soft calibration processing. SOLUTION: A digital copying machine includes a pattern image forming unit 51, which forms a pattern image that includes patches of a plurality of densities, a first colorimetric data receiving unit 55, which receives first colorimetric data that a colorimetry device measures and outputs, the density of a pattern image, formed in soft calibration being measured by the colorimetry device, an interpolation target part extracting unit 57 which extracts an interpolation target part from the first colorimetric data, by comparing the first colorimetric data with the second colorimetric data that a colorimetric sensor which measures the density of the pattern image and outputs in the soft calibration; a first colorimetric data correcting unit 59 which deletes the interpolation target part from the first colorimetric data, correct the first colorimetric data, and a gray-level correction table generating unit 61 which generates the gray-level correction table, based on the corrected first colorimietric data and stores the gray-level correction table.
