PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone terminal which automatically changes the waiting or menu screen or the termination sound synchronously with the mounting or replacing of its external cover. SOLUTION: The portable terminal (portable terminal body 1) is equipped with a control means (main controller 11) for acquiring and outputting indication or sound information corresponding to the mounted exterior package cover when detecting the mounting of the external cover 70.
