The magnetic field sensor to register an external and especially terrestrial magnetic field has a least two parallel magneto resistive strip layers (1-4), with current and/or voltage contacts (6-8) to generate measurement signals. The strip layers have the same specification, with mutually opposing and equal residual magnetism (M1-M4). The measurement signals are formed by the difference between the simultaneous voltages at the strips. Each strip is a giant magneto resistance (GMR) component with multiple GMR layers in a serpentine structure.
