PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of separating paper sheets one by one to feed it even in the case wherein double-feeding and chain-feeding are easy to occur by adhesion of paper sheets to each other due to cutting or static electricity. SOLUTION: This paper feeder 1 comprises a suction conveying unit 3 horizontally arranged over a paper sheet stacking table 2, and sucks stacked paper sheets 10 on the paper sheet stacking table 2 one by one, and conveys it onto a horizontal conveying surface 35 provided under the suction conveying unit 3. The paper sheet conveying table 2 is provided freely to be inclined in a direction Y crossing the conveying direction of the stacked paper sheets 10, and an inclining means 6A is provided to incline the paper sheet stacking table 2 in the crossing direction Y.
