PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle capable of producing a state where a navigation image can be watched when mixture of a meter image and the navigation image are displayed in a meter panel. SOLUTION: When it is determined that a first prescribed operation from a user is accepted or when it is detected that the vehicle comes to a first prescribed condition in a condition without displaying the navigation image on the meter panel nor lighting an illumination light source for a mechanical type meter, the navigation image is displayed, and then, after the expiration of a prescribed time, the illumination light source for the mechanical type meter is lit.
