PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polymeric material in which it contains a guest compound and various kinds of functions can be imparted to the material by a chemical reaction and the like in which the guest compound participates.SOLUTION: A syndiotactic polystyrene co-crystal material 1 contains a syndiotactic polystyrene 10 and a guest compound 20 constituting a co-crystal together with the syndiotactic polystyrene 10. The guest compound 20 is selected from among a monocyclic aromatic organic compound including a heteroatom, a condensed bicyclic organic compound including a heteroatom, a bridged or spiro bicyclic organic compound including a heteroatom, and the like.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
