The present invention relates to a glass plate cutting method for cutting along a cut line a glass plate machined to have said cut line, wherein a pair of holding members holds the bottom surface and the top surface in the width direction of one of the glass plates across from one another on either side of the glass plate cut line, a support member supports the bottom surface in the width direction of the other of the glass plates across from one another on either side of the glass plate cut line, and a breaking member is arranged against the top surface with a prescribed gap. By rotating a cutting member, which comprises the aforementioned support member and the aforementioned breaking member, by means of a rotation drive unit with the lower position of the aforementioned cut line as the center of rotation, the portion of the bottom surface edge of the breaking member separated farthest from the cut line is pressed on the top surface of the other glass plate, and the glass plate is broke along the cut line and the surfaces of the cut broken glass plate are separated. |
