PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can significantly reduce the consumption of toner while stably maintaining image quality suitable for office application.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image carrier; charging means that charges the image carrier; latent image forming means that forms a latent image on the charged image carrier; developing means that develops the formed latent image into a visible image; and transfer means that transfers the visualized toner image from the image carrier to a recording medium. When forming a solid image as a latent image, the image forming apparatus forms a writing part and a non-writing part as the solid image with the latent image forming means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
