PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision in detecting a white line.SOLUTION: A white line detection device 1 detects a white line of a travel lane where a vehicle travels. The white line detection device 1 includes: an image acquisition section 6 for acquiring a three-dimensional object image G1 and a white line image G2; a three-dimensional object extraction section 7 for acquiring information on a three-dimensional object with the use of the three-dimensional image; a candidate point extraction section 8 for acquiring information on candidate points constituting an edge with the use of the white line image; an area identification section 9 for acquiring information on an area occupied by the three-dimensional object in the white line image with the use of the information on the three-dimensional object, the speed and orientation of the vehicle, and a time difference between the first timing and the second timing; and a detection section 11 for detecting the candidate points not included in the area occupied by the three-dimensional object as points constituting the edge of the white line with the use of the information on the candidate points and the information on the area occupied by the three-dimensional object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
