<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method or the like of an optical disk device in which deterioration of recording material at the starting tip and the ending tip of an optical disk recording region is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: When data are to be recorded in the recording method of the optical disk device in which recording and reproducing are conducted for an optical disk having discontinuous recording regions 116a to 116f where the data are to be recorded, adjacent regions of recording regions are illuminated by optical power 132 that is greater than power 133 of the light beams used for reproducing.
