PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate and a circularly polarizing plate having high light absorption selection performance even in a thin film state and having excellent heat resistance.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a polarizing plate including a substrate and a polarizer, in which the polarizer has a polarizing layer having an oriented dichroic dye and a thickness of 5 μm or less. The polarizer has an absorbance (A1) of 0.3 or more and 1.5 or less in an absorption axis direction at a wavelength from 380 to 760 nm and an absorbance (A2) of 0.001 or more and 0.15 or less in a transmission axis direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
