摘要 Methods and systems are provided for operating a fuel system configured to deliver a gaseous fuel to an engine. Following tank refilling, the fuel composition is selectively updated based on fuel tank pressure, temperature, and air content data. When the engine is subsequently restarted, the fuel rail is primed for a duration based on the updated composition.

A method for an engine, comprising: inferring a refill event based on a rate of change in fuel tank pressure; in response to the refill event, selectively updating an estimated fuel composition; andpriming a fuel rail during a subsequent engine restart, a priming duration based on the updated composition; and supplying gaseous fuel from the primed fuel rail to the engine to operate the engine on the gaseous fuel.
