PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for automatic update of an electronic certificate in MPF.SOLUTION: At the time of introducing a certificate, the effective period of the certificate, and an automatic start timer, several days before expiration of the effective period, are set. The MFP started by the automatic start timer performs certificate update by a certificate update protocol (SCEP) between itself and a Radius server.EFFECT: Even in the MFP where the long term power supply is turned OFF, the effective period of certificate does not expire, and secure communication can be continued.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
