PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance combustion efficiency at low loads by positively introducing air to a low load side division path during small valve opening of a slide type throttle valve, in an internal combustion engine in which an intake system with an intake passage forming an intake path together with an intake port is connected to a cylinder head while having the slide type throttle valve that has, at the front end part in a valve close side slide direction, a step part facing an upstream side along the flow direction in the intake passage, and at least a part of the intake path on the downstream side of the throttle valve is divided into plural division paths including the low load side division path arranged corresponding to a side of the throttle valve that is opened first in valve open operation.SOLUTION: An upstream end 59a along a flow direction 43 of a partition wall 58, 59 is set at a position of providing a predetermined distance LA1, that is equal to or larger than a diameter D1 of a portion of an intake passage 34 corresponding to a throttle valve 33, from the throttle valve 33.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
