<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which quickly ejects the first copy regardless of the number of originals or the content of setting. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the original is supplied to a read position one by one, the image of the original is read, and the read image of the original is compressed/expanded.
