<p>Mineral construction materials are made impermeable to water while maintaining sufficient moisture diffusion props. by applying a compsn. contg. in continuous phase, a transport liquid, and in discrete phase, deformable hydrophobic substance whose particle size is such that it can be carried into the material by the liquid, and remaining lodged in the material during removal of the liquid by evapn. Used for impregnating the surfaces of existing buildings and new building blocks, to prevent rainwater penetration while permitting contained moisture or that in mortar to dry out.</p> |
