PURPOSE:To provide a synthetic lubricant composition useful as not only a general-purpose oil such as working oil, metal-machining oil, machine oil for high-temperature use or engine oil but also base oil of a grease, which comprises as active ingredient tetracarboxylate tetraester represented by the given chemical formula. CONSTITUTION:A desired synthetic lubricant composition is obtained by incorporating as active ingredient tetracarboxylate tetraester represented by the given chemical formula (wherein R<1>-R<4> each independently stand for alkyl or alkenyl having 4-22 carbon atoms), for example, TDA tetra(n-octyl)ester. |
