<p>A system and method for assisting in verifying that the right medication is efficiently provided to the right patient, in the right dose, at the right time, and via the right route. The system is preferably implemented as a system for configuring medical devices (120) in a patient care system (100). The system includes a central computer (108), and a first plurality of remote medical devices. The operation of the remote medical devices is determined by a plurality of patient care system configuration parameters and a plurality of operating parameters.
