PURPOSE:To form a stable composite separating membrane by cultivating microbial cellulose producing bacteria in a culture ground blended with a high molecular substance and by combining microbial cellulose with the high molecular substance. CONSTITUTION:A culture ground blended with a high molecular substance such as chitin, carboxymethylchitin, chitosan or carrageenan is prepd. Microbial cellulose producing bacteria belonging to Acetobacter Beijerinck, Gluconobacter Asai, Pseudomonas Migula, etc., are added to the culture ground and cultivated at about pH 5-9 and about 20-40 deg.C and a composite separating membrane consisting of microbial cellulose and the high molecular substance is formed. A solidified composite separating membrane is obtd. by freeze-drying the formed membrane. The pref. concn. of the high molecular substance added to the culture ground is about 0.05-20%. |
