PURPOSE:To produce a permanent magnet alloy superior in magnetic properties and Curie point to the conventionally obtained iron - rare earth - nitrogen- (hydrogen) alloys. CONSTITUTION:The alloy is a permanent magnet alloy represented by a general formula Fe1-x-y-zRxXyZz [where R means one or >=2 elements selected from the group consisting of Y, Th and lanthanoide series, X means one or >=2 elements selected from the group consisting of H, C, and N, Z means one or >=2 elements selected from the group consisting of He, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe, and further, (x), (y), and (z) represent atomic ratios and satisfy 0.07<=x<=0.30, 0.01<=y<=0.20, and 0.001<=z<=0.10, respectively]. This alloy can be obtained by subjecting a bulk of Fe - rare earth alloy to heat treatment at 100-1100 deg.C in a gas containing the components X and a gas containing the components Z or a gaseous mixture thereof. |
