PURPOSE:To provide an original carrying device capable of properly detecting the density of an original. CONSTITUTION:In the original carrying device having an original density detecting part 25 inside the carrying path of the original, a detecting part 26 detecting the light quantity of the light source of the above-mentioned original density detecting part 35, inside the above-mentioned carrying path, a control part controlling a supplying power source to the above-mentioned light source so that the light quantity detected by the above-mentioned detecting part 26 becomes the light quantity set in advance, and a judging part judging the right or wrong of control by the above-mentioned control part, are provided, so that the light quantity of the light source of the original density detecting part 25 is stabilized, and the density of the original can be properly detected. |
