The cooling holder (6) is for a transition duct between a flue gas return duct and coal pulveriser, which is fitted with an insulation and external jacket. The insulation has recesses for the cooled pipes, and the armoured plates are fitted with pipe retaining holders. Pref. the recesses extend over the duct width, into which fit recesses for securing the interconnected pipes. The armoured plates are insertable onto the pipes by clamping brackets. At individual duct points, the receivers may pass through the insulation. USE/ADVANTAGE - For pulverised coal fired steam boiler, with integral holding and cooling of the armoured plates.
