<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording method in which image quality, e.g. gloss, of a recording image can be enhanced by enhancing flatness while suppressing occurrence of blister. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal recording method comprises a step for recording an image by heating a thermal recording material having a support, at least one thermal recording layer and a protective layer, and a step for hot pressing the thermal recording material using a cooling strip belt fixing type smoothing machine wherein the hot press step is carried out at heating temperature of 75-165°C after finishing the image recording step. Carrying speed of the thermal recording material is 1-50 mm/sec in the hot press step and the cooling strip belt fixing type smoothing machine comprises a belt member, a hot press means and a cooling means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
