Piston with piston rod

The piston (1) has between a front and rear area (16,17) an uninterrupted circumferential indentation produced by material deformation and forming towards the inside a rear cut section to enclose the ball-shaped piston rod head (4). Where ball sockets (14) are provided for the piston rod ends these sockets are semi-spherical and defined in the direction of the rear piston area by a soft elastic sealing ring which sealingly encloses the ball-shaped top (4) of the piston rod so that the top is held in the socket by gas pressure acting on the rear area of the piston. The sealing ring has a sealing lip adjoining the rod top and directed towards the rod.
