The side airbag module has gas generator and gas bag with chamber (2) for shoulder area, and chamber (3) for pelvic area. The two chambers are structurally connected together to form one unit and define between them, an area (13) which itself remains free of contact with the thorax area of the person when the chambers are fully inflated. The gas generator introduces gas into the chamber associated with the pelvic area when a release signal is triggered. The two chambers can be connected in flow connection with each other, or can be separate from each other, and each with their own gas generator. |
