<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome difficulties in manufacturing by decreasing the number of joints which should be aligned when a layer-built fuel cell is constructed. SOLUTION: A flat cell is formed by disposing an electrolyte matrix between anode and cathode. A separator attaches edge plates 7 and 8 on both sides of an interconnector 9 respectively so as to form a layer. The flat cell and the separator are laminated alternately. An internal manifold 14 is provided which supplies and exhausts fuel gas and oxidizer gas separately by providing a hole through the separator therearound. In this case, a manifold ring 15 connecting the edge plate 7 and 8 which faces each other across the flat cell is formed by using sealants 21 composed of a mixture of glass and fiber.</p> |
