The seal provides a sealed bond between the transparent plate (130) and the semiconductor chip (120) of the liquid crystal display device (110), for enclosing the pixel array (122) provided by the semiconductor chip, when the seal is locally heated, without heating the entire display device. An Independent claim is also included for a method of manufacture of an LCD device.
